Syrian activist using art to protest against al-Assad
Ahmad Jalal is a Syrian artist and activist whose drawings have been widely used as placards in his hometown of Kafrnabel in demonstrations against Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
His drawings led the Financial Times to call Kafrnabel “the creative centre of the revolt against President Bashar al-Assad”.
Having previously volunteered to fight against American troops in Iraq in 2003, Ahmad is now peacefully campaigningfor a civil state which provides inclusiveness for all members of Syrian society.
